Relaxing During "Keyhole" Varicose Vein Surgery

The Whiteley Clinic is one of the world’s leading clinics for "keyhole" varicose vein surgery, performed under local anaesthetic. This approach has shown to be far better than the old general anaesthetic operations, particularly when the veins were stripped and larger incisions were made.

However, despite using the very latest vein treatments with lasers, radio frequency catheters or other techniques, and despite using very tiny incisions and only local anaesthetic, a great many people get nervous or anxious about having an operation.

This anxiety (or stress) is not nice for the patient, and it also increases the perception of pain during the procedure as well as making the veins contract, meaning that they are more difficult to treat with the new techniques.

At the end of 2011, Jade Davidson helped one of The Whiteley Clinic patients by performing reflexology on the patient immediately after the surgery.

Reflexology, a specialised massage technique of the feet and sometimes the hand, is a highly effective way of relaxing people.  

Having found this to be so successful in this one patient, Jade Davidson has now developed a series of reflexology packages that can be purchased to help Whiteley Clinic patients through their procedures.

These packages range from simply having hand reflexology during the procedure and foot reflexology immediately after the operation to reduce stress during the experience, through to having reflexology the night before the procedure in your own home to help you sleep, reflexology during an immediately after the operation, and then a course of reflexology to follow to help you during your recovery.
